Martial Art Camp

M.A.C. is short for Martial Art Camp.

By a martial art student, for a martial art student.

MartialArtCamp.com first went up in 2016 as a directory of 21 camps, most of them in Thailand. This is the new version, rebuilt as a free guide to real martial art training camps and programs, almost anywhere in the world.

It is run by Rick Tew Co., Ltd., the company of Rick Tew: more than 25 years of ninja martial arts, taught around the world, and still a student.

Why the ART

This guide leads with real martial art: kung fu, karate, aikido, judo, ninjutsu, jiu-jitsu, kali, silat, krabi krabong, Muay Boran, MMA and the rest, at camps and schools that take visiting students.

Muay Thai and kickboxing camps are here too, one click away. We count them as kickboxing camps, so they are not what the guide leads with. A Muay Thai camp that also teaches a martial art shows with the others.

How a camp gets listed

We read the camp's own site. Each Traveler Fact is set only when a sentence there says it, and that sentence is kept as proof, with the month it was read. A camp must show it is open this year to be listed.

  • Yes: the camp's own site says so.
  • No: the camp's own site says not.
  • Not checked yet: we did not find it, so we do not guess.

Camps change. Ask the camp before you book, especially about anything that decides your trip.

What this guide never does

The one camp that is ours

The people behind this guide run HI Ninja, a relaxed two-week introduction to ninja martial arts on Koh Samui. It is listed once, with the same Traveler Facts as every other camp, and marked as ours. See HI Ninja's listing

martialartcamp.com. We put the ART back in your martial art camp.
